19th September 2008, Rebecca celebrates her 20th Birthday.

At the strike of midnight, I had a wonderful surprise from my Dearest. I will never forget the look on your face when I saw you through my window with a donut 'cake' with candles on your hand. Never had I imagine you waiting for my birthday.

My mom was puzzled on why I'm going downstairs..I said a while, but I guess she understood.

I blew out the 2nd pair of candles ( I had 2 from my family before midnight), and realised that the surprised had not ended.

2nd surprise came after I finished the 'cake'. A birthday present. Didn't open it until the following morning.

I was then asked to close my eyes and use the present to cover. Then comes the next surprise.. A real birthday cake. There, I blew out my 3rd pair of candles.

That's my sweet 20th Birthday... Rebecca is a Happy girl!

Birthday at work.. I kept myself busy. My friend called and said she will be in SBG and asked me for lunch. I thought she knew it was my birthday, but well.. she forgot..=\ We had a great time catching up though..=)

It was then i realised my colleagues are looking for me. Never think much. Then I came out of the office and saw 2 cakes on the table.. They were looking for me to celebrate my birthday.. Awww!! There.. I blew out my 4th pair of candles......... Geezz...

After work, I left to the main office, and there.. I got a hand- made card from my colleague. Warm wishes from all of them.

What a nice birthday I had.. I should really appreciate ALL these people around me.

Thank You All.. Rebecca had a wonderful birthday!!! =D

Right. Here is after nearly 3 months of hibernation.

Work is getting along. Many challenges along the way, every mistake is a lesson learnt. Many people to please, rules to follow. I may have been lost for a while but I am back on track.

Well, I have my own style of working, ideas, methods. I need my own freedom. Tricky.

I have to make a balance.

Singapore Garden Festival was a milestone. Complicated preparations, on the toes at all times. Set-up, maintenance, tear down is crazy. I don't remember much, my photos are gone. Due to hardisk crash. Dell =lousy. I knew it. Got con to buy.=.= Lousy service (Don't work on weekends and closes before time stated.) The whole festival was very successful. Those who missed it, see you at 2010.

Work aside, my personal life has been going on well. After the crazy Singapore Garden Festival, I took a 3 days off (I clocked nearly 2 weeks OT), to PLAY and rest. Some of the places I visited were Sentosa, Zoo, Bird Park, Science Centre, S'pore Flyer, DHL Balloon. Great Fun!

Dad returned from Qatar for 2 weeks, spent time with him and my family.

My boyfriend has been great. With me working now, it is different from before, and it has been great. =) But I haven't touch music since.. a pity. I need to study my FTT, read about plants, SLEEP.

Sleep has been something I have been looking forward to, but if I were to get enough sleep, I have less time for FTT, plants, bf, family, music. =.=

Life goes on... I hope work will be better each day. It''s surprisingly stressful when I feel trapped.

*Hold my hands and I will follow YOU. Seeing YOUR footsteps beside mine.

Right.. Here's the update.

Work has been tiring and I'm always hungry! Well, at least I get a good workout everyday. Provided that my weekends and holidays are kept healthy. =X

Haven been turning on my laptop since work started. Besides going out, the rest of the time I'll just watch a bit of tv and then go to sleep. I just need sleep.

We were preparing stuff before the ISO audit this coming months, it's just mad. Everyone is rushing around, doing this a that. Seems like such things is quite a norm.

It has been 1 month into the job. My area is actually quite big. There are still MANY things for me to learn, be aware of and also rooms for improvement. Issuing Works Order to the contractor is my main obstacle to overcome now. There are so many administrative steps to go through, in which, I have not gotten to understand all of it. =.= The time will come.

I think the dry season is coming, it's just so hot everyday!! Protection.. Arghs..!

On Wednesday night, we actually did up a Wedding Garden at Suntec Convention Centre, just at the entrance, if you guys happen to go there, go have a look ok? It's actually a 1/100 of the upcoming Singapore Garden Festival. LOL.. I didn't take a picture of it, but it is featured in the newspaper/news. It will be there till tomorrow evening.

That's all for now....

Tomorrow Tomorrow!! Tomorrow, 1st April'08, 1st day of work as a full- time in SBG! Which means today is the last day I can slack my way through. hahazZ...

This day has finally arrived after more than a month's wait. Not sure what to expect tomorrow though..nervous..=\ I just know that my face will be emailed to the whole company annoucing my arrival.. which happens to everyone who joins the company... >.>"

It will be a totally different experience from my attachment days and I gotta get out of that 'student profile' soon. More responsibilities, higher expectations.

I realised that none of my NParks shirts are 100% clean...=\ (I prefer the NParks shirt to the SBG shirt. Tt's why..) That's for my new job.

Next, the Five Mountain Face Off 2008 in M'sia.

It's up to me to volunteer my help for this race, they know that I will turn up in some of the race. =X I guess I won't be joining them for the Gunung Belumut race this weekend coz I just started work and I will probably find Belumut a challenge as my physical level has dropped tremendously since attachment days.. =\ Perhaps the next two weeks yea! =D

I think practising abstinence is a very good thing at times. Arghs.. You will be rewarded.

I can't wait to start working, I'm getting poorer day by day, and there are just so many things I want to buy and I need money for entertainment. =\

List of things...

1. Start Driving Lessons!
2. A proper earpiece!
3. To own a pair of Chaco Sandals!
4. Own a good pair of secateurs
5. Ride the Singapore Flyer
6. Shop in Esprit
7. Own a set of Moisture White collection from Body Shop
8. Shop in Ikea
9. Revamp my room

That's all I can think of now. More to come.. =X

Silly. This afternoon, I remembered that there is a Lenten Penitential Service at the church near my place. I went last year and I thought it wasn't that bad so I wanted to go, but yet I felt the cowardness in me. =\ I still went in the end. This year was different. There was no introduction like last year. The priests came, and the queues started. I was kind of surprised. Ohh well...

When it was my turn, I felt my heart race for some silly reasons. Then I started talking to the priest, etc. Weird thing is I felt emotional again. Just like last year, I don't know why? Probably because I admit I am a sinner, I haven't been a good child, or because I feel close to God. After which, I went to pray my penance. Nevertheless, I do feel better, and I am willing to be a better person and keep my faithand others closer to God.

O you silly Girl, what's there to fear of the Lord. =)

I'm BACK from Pengerang!

Had a weekend getaway to Pengerang. Joined a group of active people on a cycling trip organised by Bukit Batok CC YEC. It was a good trip. The people of all walks of life joined in and have fun! Friendly, proactive and enthusiastic.

It was my first time taking a bumboat and seeing the way the experienced people loading the bikes onto the bumboat..Never see before.. =X Some of us just sat outside la.. haha.. nice view plus the sea breeze.

Started cycling from the jetty to the town Sungei Rengit, around 15km or so. It is alright to me because the road is flat all the way. Stopped at the town, had some tao huay (quite nice ok), some had chendol..nice too.. ahhh.. den we proceed to have our lunch at a seafood restaurant. We had to cycle another 10km to the chalet where we stayed for one night. The road we cycled along was along the coast most of the time. The beach at the chalet is beautiful too. Lots of wind, strong waves. We got forgot to bring the parashoot kite. The wind is strong and non-stop, it'd have been so exciting. AHH!! =\ Then again we had ice-breaking games, and other team games we play during camps..so fun la..

Had BBQ dinner, so much food till we had leftovers. It started raining a little while after dinner ended, so couldn't go to the beach for a walk.=\ But still.. I came out for a while until it starts drizzling again.. there was high tide, and with the constant strong wind, the waves are strong too.
A few of us continued to play a game of Taboo. The number of rules were increasing and we began to have difficulty understanding each other. =X

The next day was a windy morning again.. Had a good breakfast and went for a short walk followed by cycling.. exploration the other end.
It's a pity that I didn't bring my camera. sIgh... Great views there..

This trip has been a relaxing one. Next up, thinking of helping out in the upcoming 5 mountain race in Johor. Must climb mountain.. hmm.. =)

This week is filled with activities!

I had my final presentation on tuesday, and I felt that I have done pretty well, including the question and answer. =X

Next up was this morning, I had an informal interview with the Assistant Director of SBG. Basically to know my preferences and interest in Horticulture and work. =X He told me a lot about what is expected and my jobscope. Anywayz, did fine I guess. Shall wait for HR's directions in these two weeks.

To end off this week, I'm going on a cycling trip this weekend to pengerang. Will be enjoying the beach and stay in Desaru chalet. Hehs. Hope to burn off as many calories as possible. LOLz!

Kite Flying Day!

Went to help out in the S'pore Kite Festival In Punggol on Sunday. We went to have brunch and began to set up the kites. The event was from 2pm-6pm. We were busy doing work before we got to have fun after 3pm. It is my first time see so many different types of kites in the same field. There were a few international kite flyers around too. Their kites are huge! I got to help set up some which is just so complicated. Well, at least I managed to learn a few things. Those kites there are not the conventional kites. They are Big kites, train kites, stunt kites and parashoot kites. The big kites are set up and tied onto the pegs for display. The wind was consistent throughout the day and the weather was good.

Most exciting part was I got to try flying two of those kites! I tried to fly the parashoot kite first and then moved on to the stunt kite. Both are controlled in the same way. The kite kept dropping in the beginning, coz I don't know how to control it. Kinda Frustrating, but then once I got the hang of it everything just falls into place.=D The stunt kite is lighter, and can do more tricks, but I didn't manage to do a spin properly..=\ Well, at least I can fly the kite myself and control the kite. Yaay!

Kite flying seems to be contagious, the turn out went up to about a 1000 people. Members of the public joined in too and the kites were sold out.

Flew kites for about 2-3hrs. By the end of the day, I got sun burnt.=\ Totally didn't expect that. It seems to be a little one sided too......= Ooh well, I had Fun!!

There are kites everywhere in this field

I spent my Valentine's Day in Sentosa! Actually I went for the Sentosa Flowers 2008. =D First time attending the show, it was ok to me. Ahh.. so sweet of you to come out early just to bring me there. Lucky never get into trouble. tsk tsk. =p Anyway, saw 3 of my classmates working there again this year, caught up with 1 of them on our current job status. =X Took picture with her, but I realise I'm not sure what her phone number is... =\ Managed to asked her to help my friend and I take a picture, so shy la..=X

Halfway through the flower exhibition, we saw LKY, we were about to take picture with the rat mascot, when someone suddenly asked us to move to one side. The staff actually told me I should take picture of LKY instead. I was just puzzled. We stepped onto the curb and we saw what's going on. haha.. Lucky day indeed. After going through the exhibition, we went to play the Luge and went for a skyride. Wheee!! =D

Full of Fun, Love and Joy! Happy Valentine's Day! =)

Like my Chinese New Year since young, I will travel to my grandma house in Gemas, Negri Sembilan, Malaysia. I got to spent 1 day more this year. This year is just GREAT! I got to see EVERYONE!!! Especially my xiao gu. =D Usually my family will leave on the 2nd day of CNY and her family returns on the 3rd day, but coz we extended our stay, we met everyone! ALL my relatives and cousins. hehs. The young ones are just adorable and they really grow up fast. Took quite a number of pictures with some of them too. Got to play with them also.. haha.. I'm a big sister..=X Then again, I slept the most this year too, relax ma.. played too must in the city. LOLz. It's 100% relaxation in a kampong for 4 days. =D Ohh.. and now the express train from S'pore to KL stops in Gemas in between, because it is an interchange for trains going north-east and north-west(i think). Yaay! means next time I can take the train there..=D

Mid-Afternoon Lunch on CNY Eve.

I have been feeling sleepy at work this week. Why? I did sleep before 12am, and I go home around 10pm? Sigh.. Work hasn't been that hectic ever since the final report is done. =X
Think too much at night? haha.. maybe because I am missing something..=X

*23rd Jan'08*

Here I am blogging in the office when I am suppose to do my Final report. Actually, I'm supposed to be working, but my supervisor allowed my friends and I to do our report, but basically I don't feel so stress is because my manager is not around. =X Anywayz, we're already in a slacking mood as attachment is going to end in less than 2 weeks!!! HURRAY!!

I've got a few plans in mind already, such as working part- time, go on a cycling trip and Dinner and Dance.

Actually, my friends and I were planning to go for DnD, our lecturer persuaded us to go, but now, the people who are going seem very few, and I don't feel like going anymore. I compared the cycling trip and DnD, I feel that I'll have much more fun during the cycling trip than in DnD. In which the expenses for DnD is so much more than the trip. Sigh.. =\ I always thought I could attend DnD and have fun with a bunch of friends, but the number is so small and that I don't know much people in the entire faculty. so.. this is the disadvantage of being in a course which only haf 2 classes. =\ If everyone is not united, there goes the fun. =( I heard that my lecturer said we hafta go coz he paid for it already, wahh.. I feel bad la...=\ but what if it isn't worth my money.....=\

And also.. If I really join SBG, when should I start work? If I don't start work, the holiday will be a poor holiday..coz no income, considering that I have spent most of it..grrrrr...=.=

Things I need to do:

Finish the report. (it's holding me back!!)
Memorise my presentation to CEO next fri.
Buy formal top for next fri.
Buy CNY clothes and SHOES!
Study Basic Theory.
Go for Cycling Trip to Desaru! (Anyone interested?)
Go Sabah, climb Mt Kinabalu with my Cadets!

*20th Jan' 07*

Work has been quite hectic the pass few weeks. Due to the upcoming developments in SBG. Got attacked by mosquitoes twice in three days. =.= I think I'm TOO dark already la... especially the face..=\ Sigh.. I might continue working there if I'm successful. =D

1 of my friend got a new car last Sunday, didn't get the chance to go with him but we went out the next day. hehs.. =X The good thing about having a car is that you can go anywhere. haha..=X

This is along Coastal PCN from ECP. Most scenic view.

We went cycling yesterday. I have been wanting to try out the Eastern Loop of the park connector network (PCN), so we went to recce yesterday. HAHA. Well, we started from East Coast Park, and decided to go along Changi Park Connector. I visited that area on friday during an excursion, and I was really impressed by the scenic view. The trees especially doesn't resemble the city view of Singapore. Impressed, I cycled through there yesterday. We followed the directions which led us to Changi Beach Park and along Changi Airport. The routes den led us to loyang, tampanies, pasir ris, bedok and back to ecp. we skipped siglap due to time constrain which due to some bad linkage.

@Changi Beach Park, the Casuarinas make the place don't look like S'pore at all..

The Bedok Park Connector was the most disappointing one. It is 6km,second longest after the coastal park connector (which is the best!). We got lost even following the directions printed on the road and signages. Worst still there was an end of PCN and we travelled all over before finding the way back to ecp. At the part at Bedok reservoir, the road was sand. How can a person blade on sand?! so we turned back to the canal and went towards changi road. Weirdest thing is.. towards the end.. there's a sign that says "Please dismount and turn right and find your way to the nearest PCN." OMG! like we know where the next connector is.. There's another sign before that led us to jay walk. weird right. =\ I realise that along Bedok Park connector, there isn't the usual brown signboards along the route, and the signages are confusing. That was the major misleading area throughout the travel. We encountered a few at loyang, where we have to cross the junction where to PCN continues. Good thing we were alert and saw the brown signages. The other place we got lost was at changi beach park, where we couldn't find the way to changi PCN. Actually not as bad as the bedok one, we had to be alert and look at the printing on the tarmac road. HAHA...

My friend was roller blading while I cycled, and.. he fell at 1 of the slopes towards the canal along bedok PCN (Stunned a while..), which we thought was so not worth it as it brought us a lot of trouble finding out way. We ended up on the roads. Good thing my friend knew the way back to ecp. Just nice along the terrace houses at Bedok Ria, I saw a neighbourhood park behind, and I thought why not we go by there, might lead us back to ecp in a safer way. True enough, it's a park and it's a continuation of the PCN which leads back to ECP via Bedok Park Connector. That's why I say Bedok Park Connector is very disappointing. =\

My friend quite impressed by my guess on the park. Haha.. and said no wonder I'm in NParks.. lolx.. Lucky we went by there or we'll be along the road.=.=" We made it back safely to ECP. BUT, the underpass does not have slopes,so I gotta carry the bicycle. AND.. there isn't a signage from ECP to the Bedok connector, so basically no1 would have known.

Initially I wanted to go by Bedok and return via coastal PCN coz.. save the best to the last ma.. but it was an easier way out la.. haha.. Ohh well..we had fun la..! =D

Went to Jalan Kayu for Prata after that. All the calories burnt returned again.. LOL. The whole eatern loop is approx. 42km in distance, I wonder how much more we have travelled..=\ hehx...

*9th Jan' 08*

Today is a ... hmm... "blur" day.

Why?

Because I mistook 2 of my friends for 2 other people. Mistaken Identity.

1st, at work. I'm supposed to call Seph, but I ended up calling Sumo. I thought I click on the right name but I guess not. Until Sumo told me he's not Seph. LOL. Faintz.. Very paiseh..

Next, at home. My friend Valerie from NPStrings sms-ed me if she can interview me about Tree Climbing because she is doing a feature article about it for 1 of her modules. At 1st I thought she is my HR colleague (Head of HR). I was quite puzzled on why she needs to call me for interview when I can just meet up with her at work tomorrow. The other suspicious thing is how come she doesn't know where the garage is and she doesn't know who my friends and supervisors are. Finally she said she is Valerie from Strings. Then it striked me.!!!!!! I'm so Sorry!!!!!!! ... That was embarrassing.... >.>

Tomorrow will be a better day..

*1st Jan' 08*

OHHH!! 1st Post of 2008! hAppy NeW yEar EveryOne!!!

Still... didn't manage to catch a good view of fireworks for photo and video taking.. Wasted. Sigh.. Next time I'll only bring 1 fren along.. =.=" Or just have fun with a group of pple somewhere.

1st movie watched in 2008, Alien Vs Predator 2. The movie is considered good, although it's not my kind of movie. I thought to myself, if I can watch through Resident Evil, what is this to me. HAHA..

Anywayz.. the last few days of 2007 have been quite fun. One of it is.. I've finally fulfilled my wish of going clubbing! LOL. Somehow my dad allowed me to stay out late la.. HAHA..I got home before 3am though.. and they're asleep.. =X

Last friday was NParks year end Party at Hortpark. We suggested to go somewhere after the party, so my colleague suggested St. James Power Station. Since the rest of the people are not as enthusiatic as us, we decided that we should just go ahead with this plan. They asked me along again and I was just into the party mood, so I decided to ask my dad for permission to stay out late. HEH..

So.. the Verdict: I'm not really in for clubbing. It's fun, when u're high on alcohol and with the friends you can have fun with, but I just don't enjoy being high and going to such places frequently lahs.. I don't think I'll go clubbing again anytime soon.

St. James is not exactly squeezy..places I went to are Boiler and Powerhouse. Can't imagine how Zouk will be like.. LOL...nahs~

Thanks to everyone who went. =) We ALL had fun la... HAHA.. farnie things happen too la.. but like the rest haf said, it's normal. =.="

I got home safely..
